Parking Charge Notices

Helping you resolve unpaid parking charges

If you have received a text message from us about an unpaid Parking Charge Notice, we are contacting you on behalf of the parking operator or car park management company named in your correspondence.

We understand that missed payments, unexpected text messages, or parking disputes can be stressful. Our role is to help you understand the balance, make a secure payment, or tell us if you believe something is wrong.

Pay securely online using your unique reference code.

Working with parking operators

We work with authorised private parking operators, car park management companies, and landowners to help recover unpaid Parking Charge Notices issued on private land.

These may include charges issued at:

  • Retail parks
  • Supermarkets
  • Private car parks
  • Residential developments
  • Hospitals or healthcare sites
  • Universities and colleges
  • Commercial premises
  • ANPR-managed car parks
  • Pay-and-display or permit-controlled sites

Where vehicle keeper details are required, private parking operators must usually be members of an accredited parking trade association, such as the British Parking Association or the International Parking Community, in order to request registered keeper details from the DVLA.

About unpaid Parking Charge Notices

A Parking Charge Notice may be issued when a vehicle is believed to have breached the parking terms displayed at a site. This could include staying longer than permitted, not paying the correct tariff, parking outside marked bays, parking without a valid permit, or using a restricted area.

If the Parking Charge Notice has not been paid, successfully appealed, or resolved within the timeframe stated on the original notice, the parking operator may pass the account to us for collection.

The balance shown may include the original charge and any additional recovery or administrative costs that have been added in line with the parking operator's terms and applicable rules.

A breakdown of the balance will be shown in the text message or notice we have sent you.

If you think the charge is wrong

If you believe the Parking Charge Notice was issued in error, or you have already paid or appealed, please contact us as soon as possible.

We can record your query, pause collection activity where appropriate, and request information from the parking operator. We do not always make the original parking decision ourselves, but we can help make sure your query is passed to the correct party for review.

You may be asked to provide supporting evidence, such as:

  • Proof of payment
  • A valid permit
  • Appeal confirmation
  • Evidence that the vehicle was not present
  • Evidence that the vehicle was sold or transferred
  • Any correspondence from the parking operator
